Dramatis Personæ - Jack

The Father of the Bride is willing but evidently unaccustomed to the ceremony of such occasions as his daughter's wedding. Though poor, unkempt and uncultured, Jack is far from stupid. He is great fun and his innocence makes him an appealing and sweet man, both loving and beloved of Sue and Caroline.

I was born in Portsmouth, but grew up in Plymouth. I came to Birmingham in 1985 to attend Birmingham Poly (now UCE) and fell in love with the place. I am a lecturer in advertising at Coventry Uni.

My wife thought I wasn't interested in getting married so I organised a special license on a Monday and we were married the following Saturday. There was only me, her, her Mum and Dad and her sister. I've been to plenty of big weddings but have to say none was as much fun as ours, where we spent most of the day laughing...!

I first appeared on stage as a rat in a school production of 'Toad of Toad Hall'. I've appeared on the professional stage in a production of Alan Bennett's 'Forty Years On' and performed stand up on the same bill as Harry Hill.

Most recently I've appeared in 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'The Threepenny Opera' at The Crescent. My television credits include 'Techno Games' and 'Dick & Dom's Ask Da Family'.
