On the same day that ticket sales passed the 250-mark, we were joined by Juliette from our principal sponsor Confetti - as Team H&M was in full in attendance for a second complete runthrough of the play.
I had to give notes for the first time, which kept some of us back to nearly 11pm, and I'm grateful to everyone for their willingness to stay a little later during a vital part of the rehearsal process. Only having ever been on the end of notes it was quite odd to comment on the minutiae of everyone's performances, but I hope my observations were justified.
In truth, there were no major problems and whilst not quite being up to performance standard yet, we're not far off. Indeed, several members of the cast are now completely confident with their lines and are experimenting and playing with their characters to great effect.
The were several affecting moments, and to be able to create such emotion amongst a group of people who have seen each scene many times now, and who know exactly what's coming, was truly wonderful. On a personal level, to see the script really beginning to work is quite exhilarating.
Juliette offered some wonderful compliments at the end of the night and Team H&M left her with good vibes and plenty of ideas for how she will dress our set. It was great to see and hear her reactions, and it won't be long until there will be plenty of others to play to as well...
